"A Gothic Tale of Greed, Murder and Cotton Candy."
If you love Tim Burton and Edward Gorey then don't miss this show! 'Telling Tales' is the un-true tale of greed, love and a bag of chicken bones. Meet the greedy Mr Pustra -'Bear Tamer to the Stars', hungry for riches and a shot at the big time. Enter stage left, Miss Vile-een: the Unfortunate, shadowed by her superstar sister, Boil-een, and the unwitting foil to Mr Pustra's dark plans. Fate intervenes one moonless night and the two are bound forever in a fiery fusion of cotton candy and murder, all told through a beautifully theatrical display of silent film, original songs, puppetry and prose.
Pustra/Vile-een, London's original Vaudevillians and now infamous "terrible twosome" teleported from the future to London's grimy gutters and underground performance scene. These 'Time Travelling Oddities' and their unique brand of Variety are presented in retina searing Technicolor. Off beat, visceral and subversive, Pustra/Vile-een's unlimited supply of twisted creativity is sometimes controversial but sure to thrill and delight. Reserve your ringside seats now and marvel at the weird world of the fantastical filth that is Pustra/Vile-een's Vaudeville.
