Tutu Tango.

Dean Stalham, the critically acclaimed poet, painter and playwright extends his growing reputation with an intoxicating mix of burlesque and theatre around two intelligent and contemporary reworkings of plays by Doctor Arthur Shnitzler.

Tutu Tango and The Model Wife are accompanied by two burlesque dances by West-End starlet Amber Topaz. Both plays star Tilly Brooke and Martin Head and are directed by rising star Emily Lim.

Stalham has been described by Time Out's Bella Todd as " Pinter on speed" and brings both productions to life through his role as Creative Director of Art Saves Lives.

Art Saves Lives is the community interest company dedicated to realising opportunities for the general public to enjoy the inspiration of rare artists, writers and musicians whose work has thus far lived outside the mainstream.

Doctor Arthur Shnitzler was born in 1862 and died in 1931. He was an Austrian Jewish author and dramatist often accused of being obsessed with sex and death.

A hundred years ago his series of vignettes 'Round Dance' caused uproar with its explicit scenes of a sexual nature. Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 neo-noir “Eyes Wide Shut” was based upon Shnitzler’s1926 novella Traumnovelle (Dream Story).
