The Freak Show is dead. Welcome to The Normal Show.
Naked flesh. Lewd acts. Carnal excess devoid of moral restraint. These days everyone seems to be eating glass, breathing fire and finding ever more outrageous ways to disrobe, distort and disgorge the body beautiful in the name of entertainment. The question is, if everyone’s a freak, where does one go in search of fresh thrills and unique pleasures?
The answer is The Normal Show. The discerning connoisseur of the weird and the wonderful now seeks subversion in suburbia. Here, in the curtain twitching heart of middle England, lurks a new breed of curiosity; outwardly banal and indistinct in every way, yet beneath the thin veneer or normality surges a raging torrent of neuroses, obsessions and dirty little secrets.
Meet the bank manager from Surrey with a penchant for crack and gangster rap, the Mother Superior from Mill Hill who raises alms for the poor by moonlighting at Spearmint Rhino, the Librarian from Penge whose measures for dealing with late returns will send shivers down your spine and the policeman from Barking who extends the long arm of the law a little further than is desired…
The Normal Show promises a night of first rate comedy and song from the absolute cream of the London cabaret scene. Guaranteed to charm, alarm, confuse and amuse, you’ll never look at ordinary folk in the same way again.
Doors: 5pm
Showtime: 8pm
Tickets: £10 seated tickets. We ask all guests to order a minimum of one course from the A La Carte Menu.
